Pelletier and Spence to represent Canada at 2019 IIHF U18 Worlds

On Friday, Hockey Canada announced that forward Jakob Pelletier and defenceman Jordan Spence of the Moncton Wildcats will represent Canada at the 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship from April 18-28 in Örnsköldsvik and Umeå, Sweden.

Pelletier, in his second season for the Wildcats, hit new career highs, scoring 39 times and adding 50 more assists for a total of 89 points in 65 games.  The former third overall QMJHL draft pick  was nominated for the Top Professional Prospect Award in the QMJHL for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

As a rookie, Spence was impressive, putting up 49 points in 63 games as an 18-year old. In recognition of his strong campaign, the Cornwall, PE native was honoured as the QMJHL’s Rookie of the Year.
