Owen Beck, the Montreal Canadiens’ 2022 second round pick (33rd overall), made his NHL debut as a member of the Canadiens on Saturday. The Canadiens recalled Beck on an emergency basis from the Peterborough Petes on Friday and he was inserted in the lineup by the club, logging 9:48 in his debut against the Ottawa Senators. Beck is fresh off a gold medal victory with Team Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship and is in the midst of another productive season in the Ontario Hockey League, with 44 points (19 goals and 25 assists) in 37 games between the Mississauga Steelheads and the Petes.
