Owen Beck wins OHL Championship!

Congratulations to Owen Beck and the Peterborough Petes for winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup to capture the 2023 Ontario Hockey League Championship. The Petes won their first title since 2006, defeating the London Knights in six games, 17 years after sweeping the Knights to capture their last title. With the vicotry, the Petes advanced to this year’s Memorial Cup.

The Petes acquired Beck from the Mississauga Steelheads in January for a package of 2 players and 4 draft picks in the 2025 and 2026 OHL drafts. Beck, the Montreal Canadiens’ 2022 second round pick (33rd overall), enjoyed a storybook season, winning gold with Team Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship and bookended by helping Peterborough capture the OHL championship via a run where he notched 16 points (8 goals and 8 assists) over 22 games, good for fourth in team playoff scoring. Beck posted 25 points (7 goals and 18 assists) over 30 games with the Petes after being acquired by the team from the Steelheads.

Congratulations to Owen on his continued accomplishments!
