William Dufour Signs Entry-Level Contract with Islanders

The New York Islanders announced on Thursday that they have signed forward William Dufour to a three-year, entry-level contract. Dufour was selected by the Islanders in the fifth round (152nd overall) in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old currently sits atop the QMJHL leaderboard in goals (52) and points (109) over 61 games with the St. John Sea Dogs. Dufour’s 109-point showing to date is a Sea Dogs record.

Over 197 career games in the QMJHL, Dufour has notched 214 points (106 goals, 108 assists) with the Sea Dogs, Drummondville Voltigeurs, Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In 2018, the Quebec City, QC native skated for Canada at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
