Ken Appleby Makes NHL Debut with New Jersey Devils

Ken Appleby, of North Bay, made 24 saves in his NHL debut after being called in to relieve New Jersey Devils starter Keith Kinkaid against the Philadelphia Flyers, Saturday.

Kinkaid went down with a lower-body injury after allowing the third goal in the first period when the score was 3-0 before the 13 minute mark.

The North Bay goalie went undrafted despite leading the Oshawa Generals to the 2015 OHL championship and then winning the Memorial Cup. New Jersey signed him to a pro contract after attending their training camp as a free agent that fall.
