Gadjovich to Play for Team Canada at the World Juniors

The stage is set for Buffalo, N.Y., as Hockey Canada named its roster for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Following its week-long Sport Chek Selection Camp, Canada pared down its roster following its final tune-up game against Denmark at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ont.

Amongst the selections was forward Jonah Gadjovich of the Owen Sound Attack. The gritty forward, a 2nd round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, recorded 15 goals and 26 points in just 21 games in the 2017-2018 season following a year where he posted 46 goals in just 60 games.

The puck officially drops on Boxing Day when Canada takes on Finland at 4 p.m. ET. The Canada-U.S. cross-border rivalry takes place outdoors for the first time in tournament history on Dec. 29 at the home of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, New Era Field in Orchard Park, N.Y., at 3 p.m. ET.
