Five Selected to Represent Canada at 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge

Hockey Canada announced its roster selected to represent Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Nov. 5-11 in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C.

The players will be divided into three teams representing Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red, and Team Canada White when they compete against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States in their quest for a gold medal.

Alexis Lafreniere of the Rimouski Oceanic, Christopher Merisier-Ortiz of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Jakob Pelletier of the Moncton Wildcats, Thomas Pelletier of the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Mitchell Russell of the Owen Sound Attack were selected to represent their country in Fort St. John.

Lafreniere, Merisier-Ortiz and Russell would help lead Team Canada Red to a 2nd place finish, with Lafreniere being named to the tournament all-star team.
