Five Players Selected in Top 20 Picks at the QMJHL Draft

The 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft took place at Harbour Station in Saint John, NB, on Saturday, June 3rd. Amongst those selected were 5 players from Momentum Hockey, who were all selected in the top 20 picks.

The Rimouski Oceanic kicked off the day by selected highly-skilled forward Alexis Lafreniere from the St-Eustache Vikings 1st overall. Forward Jakob Pelletier of the SSF Blizzard did not wait long to hear his name called as he was selected by the Moncton Wildcats 3rd overall. Two-way defenseman Christopher Merisier-Ortiz of the St-Eustache Vikings was selected by the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 7th overall. Defenseman Thomas Pelletier of the SSF Blizzard was selected by the Drummondville Voltigeurs 19th overall and defenseman Sean Larochelle of College Antoine-Girouard was selected by the Victoriaville Tigres 20th overall.
