Dufour, Roy & Provost Selected in First Round of the 2018 QMJHL Draft

The 2018 QMJHL Draft was hosted in Shawinigan, Quebec on Saturday, June 2nd. Amongst those selected in first round were William Dufour by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Pier-Olivier Roy by the Gatineau Olympiques and William Provost by the Val D’or Foreurs

6) ROUYN-NORANDA – William Dufour / RW – Sem. St. François (MAAAQc)

The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies selected right winger William Dufour of the Seminaire St. Francois Bilzzard. At 6’1’’ and 170 lb, the young man has all the tools necessary to succeed and live up to the expectation and become a leading power forward in the Q.

9) GATINEAU – Pier-Olivier Roy / LW – Lévis (MAAAQc)

Roy has speed, hockey sense and the skills to become an offensive threat in the Q. Scouts say that Roy is a constant danger in the offensive zone, which promises to make many happy at the Robert Guertin Arena.

13) VAL-D’OR – William Provost / C – Amos (MAAAQc)

The local product has quick hands, great hockey sense and is a strong skater. He was regularly used as the quarterback on his team’s powerplay, and was a strong contributor as an underage player in Midget AAA during the 2016-2017 season as well.
